Description: 1979 Willie Mays Hall of Fame Induction press release with autograph, telegrams, and other pieces. Includes Willie Mays autograph on heavy stock card (Willie Mays Authentic Signature sticker affixed); an original January 31, 1979 dated press released from the Hall of Fame announcing Mays' selection and offering a nice biographical history; small group of telegrams sent to Willie Mays in January of 1979 extending well wishes after his selection. They number (16) in total and from a variety of well wishers with the most notable being former teammate Vic Wertz; a signed note on Giants stationary from Eddie Montague; and a typed poem as sent to Mays by a fan (found within the same envelope as the balance of this lot).
