Description: Very fine Steve Young 1990 NFC Championship game professional model San Francisco 49ers jersey c.1990-91 (MeiGray photo-match). Wilson size 46 red home jersey with "YOUNG" nameplate sewn across the back, along with #8 sewn on the front, back, and sleeves. Wilson tagging is on the front tail with "46" (size) and "CT" (1990 date code) flag tags attached. NFL logo patch is sewn on the front collar (not seen until 1991). Supple fabric and some spots of frayed stitching and loose threads. MeiGray has photo-matched the jersey to Getty Images #1246282754 and video-matched it to the 1/20/1991 NFC Championship Game against the Giants. Young entered the game in the 4th quarter after Joe Montana was injured, and completed a 25-yard pass to Brent Jones. MeiGray notes six characteristics matching the jersey to that specific game including the loose thread, alignment of mesh holes, and stitching patterns. The NFL shield patch indicates that the jersey was also prepared for Young's use in the 1991 season.
