Description:Significant 1954-56 Weeb Ewbank attributed Baltimore Colts personnel binder including rookie Unitas. Approx. 2" thick binder with vintage "Personnel Statistics 1955-55" label taped on the cover, but also contains 1956 info as well. Although his name is not shown, we can be very confident attributing it to Ewbank based on the content and handwriting. It appears Ewbank was ahead of his time in player evaluations by creating a grading scale which rated each player on every gradable play. Evaluations are broken down by position and include grades for each game of a player's season from 1954-1956, along with measurables including 40-times, as well as injury reports, stats, and Ewbank's player summaries. Contains pages for virtually each player from those seasons including rookie Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, Gino Marchetti, Art Donovan, Lenny Moore, Don Shula, Alan Ameche, etc. Within the lengthy Unitas comments, it mentions "He is interested in progressing and I believe he has a good chance of becoming an outstanding Q.B. in our league" (and goes on to mention other qualities).
