Description: Mel Ott autographed baseball c.1940s. Spalding F.Frick Official National League baseball has been signed "Mel Ott" across the sweetspot in fountain pen. The bold signature rates 8-8/9 out of 10 and contrasts nicely against the evenly toned surface. An additional signature of Johnny Mize is on a side panel and secretarial versions of Stan Musial and Walker Cooper appear on another. A coat of shellac was applied long ago to aid in preservation. A very nice and highly displayable example from Ott and a ball which if single signed would be valued well into the tens of thousands of dollars.
