Description: 1961 Jim Kaat autographed Minnesota Twins professional model home jersey (SGC/Grob "Superior/Excellent"). Pinstriped flannel jersey has "Twins" team name across the front and number "36" on back. In the collar is a "Kaat" embroidered strip tag. Wilson tag on the front tail notes size (44) and there is a "1961" embroidered year tag below. Original period team logo patch was once removed and framed with jersey for display and has subsequently re-applied to the left sleeve. Signed on the front in marker rating 8 out of 10. Nice use and wash wear are evident throughout and there is a small area of discoloration to lower front. Kaat had made his Major League debut with Washington in 1959 and would join the team in their move to Minnesota. There he flourished and by 1962 was posting Gold Glove worthy numbers; he would ultimately win a total of (16) of them for he skill on the mound. The offered is a highly desirable flannel dating to the Twins first season in Minnesota and further enhanced by a direct chain of provenance to a Hall of Fame player.
