Description: Jim Kaat autographed professional model glove c.1966-82: The same he famously used for (15) years. Wilson model A2000 glove is a testament to the durability of a well built product having been used by Hall of Famer Jim Kaat over the course of (15) years. It shows considerable wear with the pocket having a hole that goes through all layers of the leather with some additional small tears (a few of which were stitched closed). The wrist strap is wrapped in vintage tape and is torn 2/3 of the way through in one place. Signed "Jim Kaat" in silver marker (7/8 out of 10) and inscribed "game used 1966-1982, HOF 2022." Kaat spent (25) years on Major League rosters and during that span earned an impressive (16) Gold Gloves (second only to Greg Maddux among pitchers all-time) while winning (283) games. As he himself attests, this glove was on his right hand for much of that time and surely bore witness to countless memorable moments. Among the more interesting pieces of game equipment from a Hall of Fame player which we have offered given the well known lore of its' lengthy tenure in use and direct first hand provenance.
