Description:July 24, 1962 Jim Kaat attributed thrown baseball - hit back to knock out his teeth. Worn and used baseball (no visible stampings) which has an old marker notation on the side which reads "July 24, 1962." To the right are a series of small divots in the leather surface which Jim Kaat has attested are teeth marks. An included 8"x10" photograph (vintage telephoto with caption printed in) shows him seated in a dentists' chair undergoing treatment after being hit in the mouth by a pitch which was hit by Bubba Morton of the Tigers. It struck Kaat in the mouth. He lost two teeth as a result and chipped a third. One of the more interesting curiosities we have offered and a conversation piece to say the least. Includes aforementioned photo and signed letter of provenance from Jim Kaat: EX
