Description:1919 World Series program - scored for Game (1), "The Fix" is on. Original program has been scored neatly in pencil to reflect the events of Game (1) which was played at Redland Field and won by Cincinnati (9-1). White Sox pitcher Ed Cicotte sent a signal to gamblers that "the fix" was on by hitting Morrie Rath in the top of the first inning. That act is reflected by a small "HP" notation. The Reds would, of course, go on to win the Championship in one of the most infamous series ever played. General handling and age related wear includes spotting and other discoloration throughout the front cover (back effected to far lesser degree). Corners and edge wear throughout and there are a number of small creases and wrinkles. The center pages are intact but have separated from the staples. A desirable program which bore witness to one of baseballs' darkest moments: FR/GD
