Description: Thurman Munson professional model baseball bat c.1978-79. Louisville Slugger 125 model S44 bat with Munson facsimile signature in the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 32.9oz. Uncracked with mild use including several ball and contact marks on the hitting surface. The absence of a lacquer finish and flame burning appear on Munson's factory ordering records from late 1978 into 1979. This was a particularly productive time for the Yankees who won the World Series in 1978 with the Captain behind the plate. PSA has noted in the included letter of authenticity that "player characteristics cannot be identified" inferring that while the bat was made for and shipped to Munson, there are no Munson specific use attributes.
