Description: 1976 Mike Schmidt autographed professional model Bicentennial bat (PSA/DNA "GU 8"). Louisville Slugger 125 model P89 bat with Schmidt's name block lettered in the barrel measures 35.5" long and weighs 32.6oz. To the right of the centerbrand is Bicentennial logo used only during the 1976 season. Player number "20" is written on the knob in vintage black marker. Nice use is evident with ball and contact marks isolated on the lower hitting surface. A touch of pine tar remains on the handle which has a crack. Signed "Mike Schmidt" in marker rating 8/9 out of 10. Schmidt enjoyed one of his most productive seasons in 1976 leading the National League with (38) homeruns and earning the first of what would become ten Gold Gloves for his play in the field. He started the season by hitting (12) homeruns in the Phillies first (15) games, a stretch which included his April 17th performance when he became just the 10th player in history to hit four in one game. He led the club to an NL East Championship and began to cement his legacy as the greatest player in franchise history. Includes auction LOA from JSA and LOA from PSA/DNA (graded "GU 8"): EX
