Description: Outstanding Pete Rose Rookie-era professional model baseball bat c.1962-63 (PSA/DNA GU 9). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Rose facsimile signature in the barrel measures 34.5" long and weighs 32.1oz. Model number "U1" is factory stamped in the knob which has a vintage "14" player number written on in marker. Uncracked with evidence of nice use including ball and stitch marks visible on the hitting surface and some grain swelling has been expertly repaired. A nice coat of pine tar remains on the handle and there are some red and green rack streaks. Rose made his Major League debut on April 8, 1963 and collected his first hit just a few days later. He would earn Rookie of The Year honors for his efforts that season offering the baseball world a glimpse of the stellar career which was to follow. By the time of his retirement in 1986 he would etch his name in history books and remains the all-time leader in hits and games played. Along the way he lead the National League in hitting (3) times, was named MVP in 1973, played in (17) All-Star Games, and propelled the Cincinnati Reds to (3) World Series Championships.
