Description: Rare Chicago American Giants photograph with Christobal Torriente (c.1921 (PSA/DNA "Type I"). Striking sepia tone 5.5"x8.5" photograph showing uniformed team members standing shoulder to shoulder. Most notable among the group is Hall of Famer Christobal Torriente (8th from the left) who had long played in the Cuban League and joined the Chicago American Giants in 1919. He helped the team to pennants in 1920, 1921, and 1922 cementing their place as one of the most formidable of the period. Others shown are believed to be John Reese, Otis Starks, Bobby Williams, Jelly Gardner, George Dixon, Jimmie Lyons, Dave Malarcher, Jack Marshall, Jim Brown, Bingo DeMoss, Tom Williams, Dave Brown, Leroy Grant and Tom Johnson. Displays beautifully with some modest wear including a few wrinkles and one heavier crease running down the left edge. Small tear along the bottom is hardly visible when viewing from the front.
