Description: Detroit Tigers large format team photograph with Ty Cobb c.1915. Crisp sepia tone 7"x14.25" photograph showing uniformed team members in striking clarity. Most notable among them are Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford, and Hugh Jennings. Though they won a club record (100) games that season, the 1915 Tigers finished second to Boston in the American League. Alongside Cobb in the outfield were Crawford and Bobby Veach with the trio ranked by none other than Bill James as the best in Major League history. Mounted to heavy stock backing (and likely trimmed down to current dimensions at both top and bottom) with mild toning and some modest general wear including scattered wrinkles. There is a small tear on the right edge. A rare early Tigers team photo which is dated through the appearance of players in two different style road uniforms which was only by Detroit for the 1915 season: GDEstimated Price Range: ($1,500-$2,500)
