Description: Rare Marilyn Monroe single signed baseball. Marilyn Monroe was speaking to her husband Joe DiMaggio after returning from a USO Tour in Korea. "You never heard such cheering!"  she noted to DiMaggio. Joe sarcastically replied, "Yes, I have."  While Monroe and DiMaggio's marital union did to stand the test of time it did bring a new dimension to their legacy and consequentially linked Marilyn to the sport of baseball. While a scant few signed baseballs from the couple have entered the marketplace they number less than five in total.  Offered is the first single signature example of Marilyn that we have encountered. Lightly toned W.Harridge AL baseball which has been signed across a side panel by Monroe in blue ink rating 7 out of 10.  The ball itself presents in fine condition with appropriate light handling wear. Originally offered within a Christie's auction in the late 1990s the ball was acquired by Dr. Espy in 1999 and has remained within the collection since its purchase. Includes full LOA from JSA and related 1999 purchase documents from Dr. Espy: Ball: EX-MT, Signature: EX/MT-NM
