Description: 1965 Willie Mays Outstanding Young Men of California award plaque (NL MVP Season).(Mays Collection Photomatch). Large walnut wooden plaque measuring an impressive 13"x20" with additional suspended wooden plaque in the shape of the State of California having been presented to Mays naming him as one of the 'Outstanding Young Men of California". Inscribed brass placard to Mays runs vertically along the suspended wooden plaque with additional embossed marble and enamelwork Jaycees related insignia at top right. Light general surface wear with slightly askew emblem at top right. Western Badge & Trophy Co. manufacturer's label affixed to the back. The award is accompanied by a copy of image picturing Mays with the offered plaque in his home.
