Description: 1962 San Francisco Giants National League Championship Ladies ring from the Willie Mays Collection. Desirable ladies’ style ring related to the 1962 Giants we have ever offered and it is one of only a handful to have entered the market. The face has a baseball field design with a 1.25 carat diamond solitaire where the pitcher would stand and smaller stones at each base position. “1962 San Francisco National League Champions” is lettered around the beveled edge. The Giants logo appears on either side with one reading “19” and the other “62.” The interior band is marked “LGB 10K.” Size is 11.5 with a weight of 0.9 ounces (28g) showing very light general wear. This particular ring was made for Mays at a later date than the 1962 season. We have only encountered one period 1962 Giants ring (Ed Bailey) as most Giants players were given gold money clips for their NL Championship. The 1962 Giants ended the season in a head-to-head tie with their cross-bay rival Los Angeles Dodgers. A tense three game playoff series ensued and the Giants claimed (2) of (3) to snag the National League title.
