Description: Rookie-era Joe Torre professional model baseball bat c.1961-64. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Torre facsimile signature in the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 34.3oz. Model number "U1" is factory stamped in the knob which as a vintage marker "15" player number notation. Strong use is evident with ball/contact marks to the hitting surface (which has a touch of grain swelling due to repeated contact). In addition, there are a few rack marks/streaks and a large handle crack. Torre debuted with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1960 and joined the roster full time for the 1961 season when he finished second in Rookie of The Year voting. He would go on to play for nearly (2) decades at the Major League level before embarking on a now Legendary Managerial career.
