Description: 1927 Babe Ruth single signed baseball. Highly desirable example signed in the year during with Babe Ruth lead the Yankees to a World Series Championship as part of what is revered as one of the greatest teams in history. Spalding "Star" model baseball has been signed on the side panel, "From Babe Ruth" and dated "Jan 23 1927" in his hand with a personalization above. An included letter of provenance states that the ball had been signed for a member of the Los Angeles Symphony when Ruth appeared at a "special baseball event" with them. Period newspaper accounts do confirm that Babe was in California on that date. He had been in town performing his one man stage show and also signed a deal to appear in a movie. Fountain pen signature and handwriting rate 7/8-8 out of 10, ball displays toning/discoloration throughout and has a touch of surface wear. Includes full LOA from JSA: Sig.
