Description: Carl Furillo professional model glove c.1940s. Rawlings Lonny Frey signature model glove with rare "rolled" spider style webbing that is generally associated with the highest quality gloves produced by the famed maker in the period. Strong usage and some general age related wear is evident throughout and it appears that lacing through tips of the fingers may have been replaced in the period. An included letter of provenance from well known Dodgers batboy, Stan Strull, relays that he was given the glove by Furillo at the end of a season in late 1940s. An accompanying 8"x10" photo of Furillo in Brooklyn uniform shows his wearing what appears to be this same or a very similar glove.
