Description: 1962 Roberto Clemente Gold Glove Award. Prestigious figural award as presented annually to the premier defensive players of the National and American League by position. Walnut wooden plinth base displays a full size gilt painted Rawlings leather glove with "National League All Star Fielding Team" impressed black lettering. Figural baseball shaped finial dated "1962" affixed in front of diamond shaped wooden back splash with brass facade having "Rawlings Gold Glove Award" inscribed on front. Brass placard displayed on front of base inscribed, "1962 OF Roberto Clemente The Sporting News National League All-Star Fielding Team". 16" long with some light patination to the brass surface of baseball finial and the bottom portion of the inscribed brass placard has some wear to lettering. Wooden base and back splash each exhibit light to moderate surface patination retaining a fine original color.
