Description: Unique baseball bat Cuatro musical instrument by Maso Rivera presented to Roberto Clemente c.1960-70s. Vintage Joe Adcock Adirondack model baseball bat which has been customized into a Puerto Rican Cuatro instrument by legendary Jibaro folk artist Maso Rivera. The bat measures 35" long and has been made into the prolific Puerto Rican guitar style instrument by Rivera who has inscribed the barrel in black marker, "Para Roberto Clemente 21-Maso Rivera". Some portion of the instrument's workings appear to be missing from a hollowed out receptacle on the barrel end. Clemente famously gave Rivera one of his game used baseball bats which he fashioned into a Cuatro after Roberto's tragic passing. Includes vintage sheet music picturing Rivera with the "El Clemente" baseball bat Cuatro and letter of provenance from the Clemente family: VG
