See a Picture of this Item 419 Lot of Jack Onslow related baseball uniform parts. We must admit that this is without question one of the most difficult lots that we have ever had to catalogue. The offered lot was, in fact, at one point Jack Onslow's 1949 Chicago White Sox jersey and a Boston Braves nameplate and #33 c.1941-45. The White Sox jersey has literally been cut into countless pieces with the left torso piece remaining fairly intact. Remainder of "Chicago" lettering is present along with original #23. "Boston" nameplate is apart but complete and is accompanied by the #33 which could have been either George Kelly (41-43) or Tom Sheehan (44). While in generally deplorable condition the offered group would make for excellent period uniform parts that could be invaluable for restoration purposes. Lot also includes a pair of cream color pants worn by Onslow with orig. Wilson tags most likely with the White Sox: PR ($200.00-$300.00) $325.00

See a Picture of this Item 420 Jack Onslow game worn catcher's mitt c.1910-20. Enormous 11 1/2" tall catcher's mitt with reinforced interior pocket. Back of glove shows enormous usage wear with a large piece of reinforced leather applied for support. Onslow was a catcher who played for the Tigers and Giants but most notably was Babe Ruth's first catcher at Providence when Ruth pitched for the first time. It is very likely given the dating of this mitt and the usage wear that this glove caught a Ruth fastball at some point in its life. Includes letter of provenance from Onslow family: VG ($400.00-$600.00) $1,300.00

For the sake of accuracy we would rate the signatures between 9-10 out of 10 although it would not be inaccurate to grade them all at a 10 out of 10 level. While the condition of this ball is notable the significance of this year in Yankees history is equally formidable as the new kid from Oklahoma took the reigns from the regal Yankee Clipper and the rest in history. Remarkable Yankees Championship team ball for the most discriminating collector.
