See a Picture of this Item 702 Detroit Tigers outfield autographed photograph. Matte finish 8"x10" image of Davy Jones, Ty Cobb, and Sam Crawford signed by all three players. Jones has signed his name in blue and then identified the other two players under their images. Subsequently, Cobb and Crawford signed under their respective images at a later date. Signatures rate 7/8 out of 10, inscribed on back in Jones' hand, "To my good friend Jess Wilson and his boys-Davy Jones". Also inscribed on back in Jess Wilson's hand is detailed provenance of how the photograph was obtained including an account of Cobb's signing in 1961. Photo itself has a repaired indentation on Crawford's right knee area otherwise remains fairly clean. Rare and desirable signed image from a legendary outfield trio. The offered Mel Ott single signed ball in our current auction remains the only one that we have handled as we have had the good fortune to have it consigned by the winning bidder in 1999. Light cream color Frick NL ball signed in black ink on a side panel rating 8/9 out of 10. Ball was obtained by the original consignor in person at a Giants game. Many single signature baseballs are tagged with the term "rare" but authentic Mel Ott single signed baseballs (with impeccable provenance nonetheless) border on impossible.
