Description: Scarce 1924 "First Colored World Series" Monarchs vs. Hilldale panoramic photograph (EX) Significant original sepia toned image shows the Opening Game of the 1924 Negro League World Series played at the Baker Bowl in Philadelphia. Titled within noting the game date "Oct. 3, 1924" and participating Hall of Fame pitchers Bullet Joe Rogan and Louis Santop. A total of ten games were played in the best of nine series (one ending in a tie) with Kansas City winning (5) to claim the Championship. Framed to 17"x25.5" for display with mild visible toning (somewhat more accentuated at upper left) and some light general wear and a pair of more pronounced vertical creases.
