Description: Exceptional Johnny Sain Boston Braves uniform attributed to the 1948 World Series with family provenance (NL Champions) Road flannel Horace Partridge size 44 zipper-front jersey with the classic "Braves" and tomahawk logo across the front, team logo on the left sleeve, Sain's chain-stitched name tag inside the collar, and his number "33" on the back. Includes matching size 36 pants with the same embroidered name tag inside the waist, along with "SAIN" written in vintage black marker (original stirrups also included). 1948 was an All-Star season for Sain who went on to lead the league in wins (24), complete games (28), and innings pitched (314.2), while pitching two more CGs in the World Series with a 1.06 ERA. Includes a letter of provenance signed by Sain's wife which states that Johnny "relayed to me that this is the very uniform he wore in the 1948 World Series". The uniform was previously displayed in the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame and has otherwise remained within the Sain family personal collection until its current offering. Mentionable wear is mainly confined to the numbers on the back, which both have small spots of stitching loss along the right edges.
